A glorious June sees our classy Under 14’s Divas win two summer tournaments

Two tournament wins in seven days for AFC Worthing Youth Divas, capping off a fine second half to the season.

Winners at Eastbourne tournament – but one of the teams had to lose

With team boss Craig entering two teams at the Eastbourne tournament, both sets of Divas set about working through the group stages through to the knock-out stages.  It was great to see Skye and Sian back in the Divas kit after being eligible during the summer break from Brighton FC. Joined by Ava, the Divas had very two strong teams. Captain Millie and vice-captain Gypsy found themselves on opposite sides as both of our teams reached the final. In what was a nip and tuck match, it was vice-captain Gypsy who led her team to victory.

To have both teams in the final was a great achievement. Well played everyone!

Winners at Ringmer!

A week later, the girls laced-up the boots and took to the football field for what would be the final games of the season. After a slow start in which the girls lost to Rustington Raiders, the pace and results picked-up. Having worked their way through to the final, the girls faced Rustington Raiders for a second time. In the second meeting, it was our Divas that got the upper hand winning comfortably.

Another great effort, and over the two tournaments there was some great football played.
