AFC Worthing Youth Atoms U11 v Chichester City Youth U11 – Match Report

Match Report: Saywell International (Arun and Chichester) Youth League

AFC Worthing Youth Atoms U11 1 v 9 Chichester City Youth U11
Date: 28/09/2014
Venue: Fernhurst Drive
Atoms Goals: Harry 4 mins.

Atoms were at home to top of the league, Chichester City Youth this morning. We started off really well matching them on both sides of the pitch. They unfortunately opened the scoring on 4 minutes, nonetheless we clawed back a goal on 9 minutes. An attack from the break, through midfield onto our strikers, and a pass through by Charlie saw Harry slotting home a good team goal.

After that goal we let them run away with the game in the first half letting them score on 14,16,18,20 and 24 minutes. Finishing the half at 6-1.

The second half was a much much tighter game. Riley was asked to do an important job, and man mark the Chichester star player and play maker. Riley bossed him out of the second half, we played much better right up to the end of the game, conceding only three goals in the final 30 minutes.

Billy was man of the match today. The score could have been much worse had Billy not saved so many shots and been a really quality brave keeper throughout the game.

Players today were played in different positions, some ideas worked and some did not. This is something we will work on and develop during training.

Well done Atoms, a tough game today but you worked hard and showed great sportsmanship, graciously shaking your opponents hands.
