MATCH REPORT

At home to Lancing United Youth and a first victory 8-6

In what was a really exciting match, our keeper Billy was on point today blocking and saving more than the scoreline suggests. While the Atoms conceded six goals, Billy saved many more than that.

Hayden was solid in defence and read the game really well. Both Paddy and Josh played really well in their new positions. Paddy looked at home on the right, and was fast and confident when pushing forward. Josh had a great game on the left and was a nuisance throughout the match. Our wing-backs helped us win this match today, great team players.

In Midfield, Jago started many of our attacks. Working up and down the line and coming inside, his movement and hard work kept the team tempo at a fast pace. Riley worked very hard in defensive midfield. Riley seemed to cover every blade of grass and helped break-up the Lancing attacks and start our own.

Brennan continued his impressive form post-début with four great goals today all in important times of the match to carry the momentum forward. Also scoring four goals today was Harry who in playing new position today was a nightmare to the Lancing United Youth defence. While Charlie didn’t manage to get a goal today, he came exceptionally close and was an excellent decoy as he dragged defenders out of position to open play up fir his team-mates.

Mackenzie came on from the bench and slotted into position with ease adding additional problems to the oppositions defence and tracking back to help break-up play. With Jamie, Jack and Noah also coming on today the team worked really well for each other and were able to see-out the result.

A great result for the team, the team can be proud of their work today. It was their work rate and team work that kept us in front today.
