AFC Worthing Youth U13’s Match Report – Sunday 31st January

This was the best performance by the Atoms this season.

Every one of the boys was on top form from the whistle and they dominated the game throughout. It could so easily have been 3 of 4 nil at half time with at least half a dozen efforts missing by the narrowest of margins, but it was a powerful shot towards the end of the half that found the net and ensured Worthing went in at half time with a well deserved lead.

It was a similar story in the second half, and although from time to time Lancing looked like they could break through, they still created very few real opportunities and it was again the Atoms that were the stronger team. The Atoms scored twice more, the first Just minutes into the second half, a great solo effort from Tom who twisted and turned past three players before slotting home from just yards out. The Atoms played some great team football, passed well and gave Lancing very little time on the ball and they deserved to get a third towards the end of the game. Joseph, who was strong throughout had the vision to find Max in space half way into Lancings half, Max then created the opportunity from nothing, driving the ball down the wing past two players, cutting in towards goal and then looking up to find Dom before squaring for Dom to put away decisively.

So proud of you boys, brilliant, well done
Paul Arnold, Coach
