Match Report

Avisford started the brighter, however Max and Oliver held firm, as if they had played together for a number of years. On five minutes a goal kick went straight to Jake , who controlled the ball and shot into the empty net from the centre circle, 0-1.

Joshuas’ corners were causing confusion in the Avisford defence, as they were delivered with pace and accuracy. From one of the corners on eight minutes the goal keeper spilled the ball and Matt pocked the ball home, 0-2. The Stars were now rampant with Joshua causing problems down the right and Matt controlling the midfield. Matt broke free and shot past the keeper, 0-3. From the kick off the Stars again went on the attack and again it was Matt who shot from the right, high in the net, 0-4. The Stars were now find space and time all over the park and Oliver passed to Jack on the right who set-up Matt Holden to score again, 0-5. Following coming on as a substitute for Wesley, Charles broke free and slotted the ball passed the keeper, 0-6. Half Time.

Avisford regrouped at half time and changed their formation, which caused some confusion during the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half. The Stars then settled into their stride and again from a Joshua corner, Matt flicked the ball on for Jack to smash the ball into the roof of the net, 0-7. The Stars wanted more, however were leaving themselves slightly exposed at the back, the ball bobbled around the Stars penalty area and came off Oliver and between Davies’ legs. 1-7. Avisford were encouraged by the goal and continued to press forward, causing a few corners, these were dealt with confidently by Max.

When Avisford broke free, Nathaniel was there to collect the through ball. Henry was unlucky to see his shot just drift past the post, but continued to battle for the ball, he broke free and as the defender approached a through ball sent Matt free to slot past the keeper, 1-8. Following the goal the Stars started to tire and were caught out, when Avisford player shot high over Nathaniel, 2-8. As the game came to a close Matt cross the ball over the keeper and Lloyd was on hand to knee the ball over the line, 2-9. Full Time.
