Barnham Trojans Red U11 v AFC Worthing Youth Atoms U11 – Match Report

Match Report: Saywell International (Arun and Chichester) Youth League

Barnham Trojans Red U11 3 – 0 AFC Worthing Youth Atoms U11
Date: 14/09/2014
Venue: Aldingbourne Community Centre

This morning saw our U11 Atoms travel to Aldingbourne to face Barnham Trojans Red. Unfortunately Billy our keeper was beaten by the bounce on the first goal. Some important saves from Billy however, kept the score at 3-0 and he had a good game.

The Atoms defence were unlucky in the first half, Jamie and Hayden kept the attacks down with great tackles at the right time. Noah tracked back with their forward many times, stopping Barnham from shooting on goal. Paddy worked so hard, up and down the wing trying his hardest with every tackle and kick of the ball. Josh, with his first game for the newly formed Atoms, really worked hard as a wingback and covered more than what was asked of him. The midfield worked hard covering a lot of pitch today, they were non-stop chasing every ball and giving everything to the game.

Brennan, playing his debut game for AFC Worthing, impressed with his work rate starting many attacks, he was unlucky not to get a goal. Riley was a solid great captain once again with his encouragement, tackling and talking constantly to his team.

Harry was everywhere on the pitch today. He was unlucky not to get goals in the second half when he played up front. He really deserved his man of the match award today, great performance Harry. Charlie worked hard chasing the ball all over the pitch and played there offside really well. Again with Charlie’s efforts, Atoms were unlucky not to get a goal in the second half. Mackenzie did what he always does, 100% commitment every time and with shots on goal was unfortunate not to find the back of the net.

In the second half we came back out onto that pitch like we were a different team, dominating most of the play. The effort and work rate from each and every player was something to be really proud of today, well done to the whole team.

The result doesn’t really do justice to the amount of effort you all put in today, we were just a little unlucky, keep it up Atoms!!
