Under 8’s

AFC Worthing Youth – Under 8’s Football Team

This is a great time for the younger players. With many of the players having a season of football under their belt the players are stronger, faster and gaining greater co-ordination. Training development continues with additional work with movement, positional sense, teamwork and technique.

That’s what we aim to give them. The coaches all enjoy working with our younger players to help develop their awareness and their skills, foster a culture of team-orientated dedication and discipline and ensure that they’re always able to express their natural enthusiasm for the game. At this age results are not important, it is about the development of the players, building their belief. There is no league for the Under 8’s age group as it is all about player development. As the great Danny Blanchflower put it, ”Winning isn’t everything, but wanting to win is”.

It is important to remember Under 8’s football is non-competitive (FA regulations) – teams are 5-a-side.

Roger Langmaid - Under 8's Head Coach

As an FA Standard Chartered Club, AFC Worthing Youth operate the Under8’s football coaching to the guidelines set by the FA. This helps ensure our younger players really enjoy their football and continue their development with the game.
