November 1st – AFC Worthing Youth Football Club Match Reports

Match scores/reports for our competitive AFC Worthing Youth Teams for Sunday 1st November.

AFC Worthing Youth U13

AFC Worthing Youth 5 – 0 Worthing Dynamos
Date: 01/11/2015
Venue: Fernhurst Park, Worthing
Goals: James (40 mins, 53 mins), Samuel (47 mins), Josh (65 mins)

The Atoms secured their second victory of the season in great style winning 5-0 against Worthing Dynamos.

The first half was relatively tight, and although the Atoms probably edged the possession and created the better opportunities, the first 35 minutes ended goal less. The Atoms went out with a revised line up for the second half, with Ben coming on to the right of midfield. Callum swapping to the left to allow James to push up and Wes dropping back into the central role alongside Joseph.

The impact was immediate and the Atoms went 1-0 when a through ball allowed James to slot home. The rest of the half was all one way. Samuel scored from the half way line from a free kick on 12, James again on 18 and Charlie on 25.

We then rounded it off with a first goal from Josh Denscombe following a great cross from Ben.

Many of the team were back to their best today, it was great to see some lovely football and the guys keeping their shape throughout a brilliant team performance.

AFC Worthing Youth U12

Rustington Otters White U12’s 2 – 0 AFC Worthing Youth
Date: 01/11/15
Venue: Woodlands Park
Goals: Sam (10 mins, 40 mins), Stan (15 mins, 45 mins), Zach (25 mins, 50 mins)

The Youth started this game bright as did Rustington. The first ten minutes were fairly equal with both teams attacking and defending well. It took a cracking long distance shot from Sam to beat the Otters keeper.

With the Youth in full stride, we slowly started to get on top. For our second goal, Stan received a great ball from Ben who put Stan in, Stan firmly placed the ball to the keeper’s left with great composure. Lewis in our goal had a great game. Lewis didn’t have many shots to save but he swept up anything that came passed our impressive back two and bossed his box with perfection. Our third came from Zach, it was a typical Zach like goal. Zach with his knack for getting in the right place at the right time converted our in box pressure by slotting the ball home to the keeper’s left.

The second half saw the Youth continue their ace performance, with great passing moves and with great determination to win the ball. Every player looked back to their best and it was pleasing to see the work in training really paying off. Sachin showed his class today with his wing-play down the left side. Sachin caused attack after attack by using his brilliant vision and along with Ben they both showed a great touch when controlling the ball. Our defenders, Charlie, Jack and Daniel all showed the will to keep a clean sheet. For the most part we were two on two at the back but these lads looked dominant all game. Our fourth goal started with the very impressive Owen retaining possession down the right side and passing square inside to Sam. Sam took on two Otters players and let rip with a peach of a shot that flew past the keeper. Our fifth goal was scored by our super quick striker Stan.

Our sixth goal was another ace piece of work for Owen again. Owen beat his marker down the right side and passed it to the waiting Zach who smashed home his second. The massively hard working Rye must of run a marathon today. Rye was always where we needed him and I’m sure he must frustrate the opposing team as this lad will just keep going until he wins the ball. Having won it, Rye helped set up many attacks on the Otters goal too. Sam was awarded the man of the match for not only two great goals but a skillful, hardworking dominant performanceSome great tackles and the normal vision we expect from this ace player.

Great performance from everyone today, let’s take this great result into next week’s game!
